Marilyn Johnston

October 23, 1948 – November 18, 2025

Marilyn Johnston passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, in Thunder Bay. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to others touched countless lives.

Born in 1948, Marilyn was the only daughter among four brothers. She later married her beloved husband, Carl Johnston, and built a life grounded in love, family, and community. Marilyn dedicated her career to teaching with the Separate School Board, guiding her students with patience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to their growth.

Marilyn found joy in traveling, biking, long walks, and tending to her garden. She especially loved hosting family gatherings especially in summer months and holidays. She was famous for her raspberry rhubarb pie—made with ingredients from her own garden. As a friend, Marilyn was known for her warmth, her ability to listen, and the deep care she extended to all who knew her.

Marilyn will be profoundly missed by her husband, Carl; her daughters, Callie and Sarah; and her grandchildren, Amber and Tristan. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Funeral Services for the late Marilyn Johnston will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11:00am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
