When you order burgers in another city, and then apologize?

What does a small town in Nova Scotia have to do with a small town in Alabama?  Darcy and Laura Clarke own a burger joint in Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia (about 30 minutes outside of Halifax) called “Bentley’s Burgers”.  They got a letter in the mail that had $40 U.S and an apology.

The letter was written by a man who searched for his local “Bentley’s Burgers” in his hometown (a small town in Alabama….2400 km away from Halifax).  What happened? He phoned and ordered 2 burger combos and fries for pick up.  Turns out, he ordered it from the Bentley’s in Nova Scotia…by mistake.  After about an hour, Darcy told his staff – nobody has come in to pick up that order…so go ahead and eat it.

Last week, they received the letter in the mail, with $40 to cover the burgers.  The man wrote, “I wasn’t able to pick up the food because I live in Alabama.  Obviously,  I called the wrong restaurant.  I hope the amount enclosed is enough to cover the cost of my embarrassing mistake”.

The story’s been shared over 100,000 times on social media.  Darcy & Laura actually ended up sending this man their famous ‘fries seasoning’ and other swag to keep the kindness alive. WHAT A GREAT STORY!
