What is your alarm? How do you start your day?

How do you start your day?  What is your ALARM?  A loud song on your phone waking you up?

New research out of the University of Virginia’s SCHOOL OF NURSING suggests you should change your ‘wake up routine’.  The study showed that waking up to a loud alarm / or loud music on your phone…can lead to what they say is a significant morning blood pressure surge.  It happens – when your body all of a sudden is yanked from SLEEP…to waking up.  Morning blood pressure surges can be linked to serious cardiovascular risks.

The University suggests better ways to wake up:

A gradual light alarm, also known as the ‘sunrise alarm clock’. It mimics the sun rising by slowly increasing in brightness.

Check out the app store for different alarm apps that use soft melodies or nature sounds that gradually get louder…so it just isn’t a shock to your system.
