It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Mother and Baba, Annette Olive Kral on November 10, 2025.
Annette was born on April 21, 1937, in Fort William, Ontario, to parents Stephen and Sadie Koczkur and from age 5 was raised in Westfort by her Baba and Gigi, Steve and Olga Haluschak. Survived by daughter Debbie Csabak (late Richard) and grandsons Keith (Taiza) and Ian (Simone). Annette is predeceased by her beloved son Brian Kral, son-in-law Richard Csabak, parents Steven and Sadie Koczkur, Steve and Olga Haluschak, and Peter and Helen Stefiszyn.
After graduating from Fort William Vocational Collegiate she worked at various secretary jobs including Chapple’s Department Store, CNR, and First Church United. Annette spent over 30 years working at the Lakehead Board of Education starting in schools as a secretary and culminating her career as an Executive Secretary at the board office. Annette enjoyed her work and in her spare time for many years enjoyed doing ceramics and has always been a talented knitter. She loved sharing her creations with her friends and family from a simple dishcloth to a blanket for all the new babies. Annette enjoyed travelling to Florida, cruising, and always loved sharing her stories about her trips to New York.
She was so proud to live in Thunder Bay and gave back to her community by volunteering at Broadway United Church, Magnus Theatre, the Community Auditorium and the Gift Store at Hogarth.
Annette’s most important job and she was most successful at was being the best mother ever to Brian and Debbie. She was the proudest Baba ever to Ian and Keith. While they were growing up, she was always willing to help when needed. Keith and Ian have so many wonderful memories of their Baba to cherish. We had the best of times that we will never forget.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors at TBRHSC for their care and compassion shown to Annette.
If friends desire, donations to TBRHSC or George Jeffrey’s Children Centre on behalf of Annette would be appreciated.
In our hearts forever.
Rest In Peace.
