Local sports for Monday, October 27th

There’s a new top team in the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs won of its games south of the border, dropping the Ironwood Lumberjacks 11-0 Friday night and coming back with a 7-1 win Saturday.

The former top team in the league, the Sioux Lookout Bombers dropped both of its games to the Fort Frances Lakers on the weekend.

The Lakers won a couple of one goal games, defeating the Bombers 4-3 Saturday night and 2-1 on Friday.

The Kam River Fighting Walleye also won both of its games, getting by the Red Lake Miners 5-1 on Saturday and doubling Red Lake up 4-2 on Friday.

The Thunder Bay North Stars were idle this weekend.
