Fall road work projects nearing completion, with some delays

Thunder Bay’s slate of fall road work projects are nearing completion.

Most of the city’s current road construction projects list October 31 as the expected completion date.

Simpson Street is currently closed between Dease Street and Victoria Avenue East.

The city expects the street to be open for traffic on schedule, in approximately one week.

The new roundabout at Cumberland Street North and North Water Street, which has left Cumberland Street closed until Tupper Street, is slightly delayed.

The top layer of the roundabout still needs paving and painting, but should be completed within two weeks.

The work on High Street is delayed. The street is currently closed between River Street and Van Norman Street.

The city expects work on High Street to be completed by mid-November.
