
Do you sleep with socks on? If you want to improve your chances of having a good night’s sleep…leave your socks on!
According to some ‘sleep behaviour specialists’, they say you should! This might sound strange, but…wearing socks to bed and warming your feet …might actually lower your core body temp. That will help you fall asleep faster! The process has a fancy name called “distal vasodilation”.
By making your feet warmer, it opens the blood vessels to help keep down the rest of your body. The study found men who slept in socks, fell asleep almost 10 minutes faster and slept a ½ hour longer than those who didn’t.
ANOTHER TIP: take a warm shower or bath just before you go to bed, and to keep your bedroom at around 18 C.
