Thunder Bay Police make arrest in weapons-related incident

A person has been arrested in connection with an assault on the city’s north side.

Thunder Bay Police says an 85-year-old was seriously hurt in the incident that occurred at the corner of Red River Road and Clarkson Avenue.

Police says a weapon was used but offered no further description.

A search using drones and a canine unit failed to turn up a suspect.

With the public’s assistance, police were able to make an arrest on Monday.

He remains in custody on charges of armed robbery and break and enter.

The man is to appear in court on Tuesday.
