Axton Bird is 11 and lives in Utah. He has a rare genetic condition that causes stiff joints and weak muscles, that makes it hard for him to walk long distances.
His family’s insurance company wasn’t able to provide him an electric wheelchair. Someone in the community donated one. This proved to be a lifeline for Axton, and his family.
2 weeks ago, his donated wheelchair was stolen while at an event. The family was trying to figure out how someone could do this. The story was shared on the local news, and a group called “Disabled Outdoorsmen of Utah” found out about Axton’s story. Not only did they come together to donate a brand new electric wheelchair, but, other foundations came together and gave Axton hunting equipment and hiking equipment to help him enjoy the trails and make it easier for him. PLUS, supporters also donated $2,500 to the family. Aiden’s family was so thankful and at a loss for words and this huge, generous gift.
