This week marks the 45th anniversary of Terry Fox’s end to his MARATHON OF HOPE. It was September, 1980, he was forced to stop his run because cancer returned to his lungs. Over the course of 4 ½ months, Terry ran over 5,300 km.
Today, we give a shout out to a few local schools. Why? Check this out:
GORHAM AND WARE SCHOOL Principal Jeff Upton was contacted by Terry’s brother, Fred Fox back in June. He heard of the amazing fundraising efforts the staff and students do to raise money each year for the Terry Fox Run. Yesterday, on the first day of classes, Fred Fox not only visited Gorham and Ware School…he also stopped by Nor’wester View Public School and Holy Family School. He was there to thank them for all their efforts. What a treat that must have been for not only the students, but the teachers, parents and staff! GREAT JOB!
Reminder, this year’s TERRY FOX RUN is set for September 14th.
