Thunder Bay listener shares her good news story.

Today, we are sharing a story from a local listener, her name is Charmaine.  Back in early 2000, she suffered a brain injury, which took her out of the work force.  But, Charmaine still wanted to do something with her time, and more importantly….do something GOOD.

5 years ago she had an idea. It had to do with candles.  We all have candles in our home, and when we’re done with them…we throw them away.  That leftover wax never goes away….it stays at the landfill.  So, Charmaine takes the leftover candle wax and creates new molds.  Basically, new candles……recycled candles.

What does she do with them? She sells them.

What does she do with 100% of the proceeds?  Charmaine buys baby food and donates it to the local FOOD BANK.  Some of her candles sell for around $18, and she can end up buying 15 – 17 jars of food for babies!  She even offers workshops for kids, right out of her home.

You can find her work on FB Marketplace under “Recycled Candles”. 100% of the proceeds go to support the local food bank.  You can even find her recycled candles at some local stores in our city.  You have a good heart Charmaine. Thank you for doing what you do!

AND, thank you for sharing your story.
