Mount Forest area may be impacted by maintenance at water distribution station

Scheduled maintenance at the Neebing Booster Pumping Station may impact water service for some residents in the Mount Forest Estates area.

The work is getting underway on Monday at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to wrap up before the end of the day.

Residents may experience fluctuating water pressure for the duration of work.

Once the work is complete, residents in the area may experience temporarily discoloured water.

Drinking water will remain safe during the work.

Staff will be working to get the discoloured water out of the system.

If you noticed discoloured water, the city is advising you to take the following steps:

  • Do not open any hot water taps
  • Open only one cold water tap (a tap that does not have a water filter system attached to it and ideally as close to the water meter as possible) and allow the water to flow at a medium flow until the water runs clear
  • Once the single cold water tap is running clear, open all other taps, including hot water taps, and flush until all water runs clear

Running cold water taps for five minutes after the following steps should clear any remaining discoloured water.

If discolouration returns, the city is advising you to repeat the advised steps above.

If the water remains discoloured, you should contact the Infrastructure and Operations Dispatch at 807-625-2195.
