The Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame is raising a flag to celebrate Thunder Bay’s Michela Cava.
Cava won the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Walter Cup as a member of the Minnesota Frost.
The flag raising is taking place on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The free event open to all will also include a meet and photo opportunity with Cava.
“We are so proud to raise the flag for Michela and share this momentous occasion with the people of Thunder Bay, a community that has shown such enthusiastic support of the PWHL,” said Hall of Fame Executive Director Diane Imrie.
This is the third year in a row that Cava has one a championship, securing the last two PWHL Walter Cups as well as the final Lady Isobel Gathorne-Hardy Cup for winning the Premier Hockey Federation, which ceased operation in 2023 and preceded the PWHL.
