TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD! “Off duty lifeguard saves the day”!

It started as a relaxing day off for a lifeguard in Venice, Florida, but that all changed very quickly!

His name is Landon Lacy, and he was hanging out at Venice Beach for an afternoon of laziness, relaxation and suntanning!  While he was there, he noticed someone rushing toward the water, and he also got a notification on his phone about a water rescue in progress.  Even off the clock, Landon’s lifeguard instincts kicked in.

He swam out more than 150 years from the shore. Two swimmers (a husband and wife) were trapped in a rip current.  He first reached the woman and brought her back to shore.  Then, went back out and swam almost 200 yards to rescue the husband.  The rescue was caught on video by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

It’s a powerful reminder of the impact just one person can have on someone’s life……and in this case, 2 people’s lives.
