Thunder Bay has extended the deadline for its Property Tax and Water Credit Program for low-income seniors, low-income individuals with disabilities, and low-income homeowners.
The new deadline is September 2.
The extension is in response to the unusually short time frame between the mailing of final property tax bills and the original program deadline this year.
The tax bills were sent out later than normal as it took extra time for the city to finalize its rates.
The program provides eligible homeowners with financial support through property tax and water credit relief.
The program’s previous deadline was July 31.
