Thunder Bay has received its first quarterly payment of the 2025/2026 fiscal year from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting a Gateway Casino.
The city is receiving $796,006, an increase from the $728,748 received as the final payment of the last fiscal year.
The payments are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“OLG is a strong partner that provides substantial benefits to Thunder Bay,” said Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, Stan Cho. “In addition to creating jobs at Gateway Casinos Thunder Bay, important investments in Thunder Bay’s public services are made possible through OLG’s sharing of casino revenue.”
Last fiscal year, Thunder Bay received $2,915,335.
The city has received $59,128,503 since the site was opened in 2000.
