Get ready for a day of history, music, art, and adventure at the Annual Lighthouse Carnival, hosted by Canadian Lighthouses of Lake Superior (CLHS). This exciting event will take place on Saturday, July 26th at the stunning Porphyry Island, a gem of Lake Superior’s north shore.

The carnival promises a rich lineup of activities for all ages and interests:

  • Historic Tours: Step back in time and explore the fascinating history of Porphyry Island Lighthouse, one of the region’s most iconic landmarks.
  • Eco Tours: Learn about the island’s unique ecosystem and the efforts to preserve its natural beauty.
  • Film Screening: Enjoy a special screening that captures the spirit and stories of the Great Lakes.
  • Fish & Chips Dinner: Savor a classic lakeside meal with freshly prepared fish and chips.

Musical Tribute and Audience Fun

The highlight of the evening will be a musical tribute to Canadian East Coast music by the talented group Great Big Lake. Audience participation is encouraged, so bring your singing voice and dancing shoes!

Art in Nature with Parks Canada

Join “Painting Superior”, a creative initiative by Parks Canada, where participants can capture the breathtaking landscapes of Lake Superior through guided painting sessions.

Getting There

The event includes a charter from Silver Islet Dock, with departure details provided upon registration. The all-inclusive cost is $140, covering transportation and all activities.
