A report about a weapon in Thunder Bay has led to charges.
On Tuesday, officers were sent to Cumming Street in response to the report.
When officers got on scene, they were told a man held what appeared to be a gun at a woman and also hit her with it.
The suspect and victim had left the scene, but officers located the victim nearby.
The suspect was located a short time later, and they were arrested, and a replica gun was seized.
As a result, a 25-year-old has been charged with the following:
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
The accused also had an outstanding arrest warrant.
They remain in custody with a future court date.
