Blues Festival Returns

It’s Blues Festival weekend in Thunder Bay.

Organizer Trevor Hurtig notes it’s the first time the Marina Park event has been sold out in advance for all three days.

He attributes it to the strong headline acts including Sheryl Crow who has never played in Thunder Bay before along with superstar performers like Sarah McLachlin, Melissa Etheridge and Pat Benatar.

Hurtig tells us this year there’s a new stage which includes two large video screens on the side.

The event official suggests you get to the event site early since a sold out crowd could mean delays going through security.

As for parking, you can leave your vehicle at the Community Auditorium and city buses are leaving every 15 minute for the waterfront

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
