Thunder Bay Kite Festival returns

If you enjoy flying kites, then you have something to look forward to this weekend.

Thunder Bay’s 42nd annual Kite Festival is back, taking place at Chippewa Park.

The free event offers a variety of events like kite flying, science activities, outdoor games, arts, crafts, and more.

Free shuttles will be running throughout the festival from the Intercity Shopping Centre to the event.

Pickups from the mall will be leaving at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Departure shuttles will be leaving Chippewa Park at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.

“This event is about celebrating play, creativity, and community in a beautiful outdoor setting,” said Thunder Bay Special Event Developer, Karen Kadolph. “Kite Festival is a free, inclusive event where people of all ages can enjoy the spirit of spring together.”

The event is taking place on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
