Lake Superior on a calm, beautiful Sunday morning….

Cruise ship season is here!
Early Sunday morning, I was fortunate to head out on John’s boat, along with “cousin Tony” – for a boat ride on Lake Superior.
To enjoy an entire morning on the lake…..with the water looking like glass………was an absolute “gift”.

We left the dock around 7:15 a.m, and watched the VIKING OCTANTIS dock at the former Pool 6 site. From there……..we checked out the Welcome Islands. Travelled to Pie Island. I made my first visit to the very famous Thompson Island (the water looked tropical). Then, made our way past the Angus Islands, including the now-abandoned Angus Island Lighthouse.

It was truly a magical morning on Lake Superior. Mornings like this – water like glass, no wind and near-perfect conditions…don’t often happen on our beautiful lake we call SUPERIOR.

Should you ever have the chance to cruise Superior….the way I did on Sunday…you are in for a treat. There are so many islands not visible from the Marina / Hillcrest Park – and to be up close and personal with them………………..you will LOVE IT.

Lake Superior……………until we meet again!
