Two people treated at local hospital after being rescued from Neebing River

Two people were sent to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for treatment after being rescued from the Neebing River.

Fire Rescue was sent to the river on Tuesday after receiving a call about two people in the river struggling to remain above water.

Upon arrival, crews quickly initiated a water rescue operation with a rapid deployment craft.

The two individuals were successfully brought to shore, where they received care from awaiting paramedics and were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Fire Rescue is reminding residents to exercise caution around waterways, particularly during periods of high flow, as water levels are unpredictable and hazardous.
