Fight between two people with weapons leads to charges

An altercation between two people who had weapons has led to charges.

Officers were sent to Amelia Street West on Friday afternoon in response to a report of a weapons incident.

An investigation determined that two people were fighting and weapons were shown during the incident.

One of the individuals had what appeared to be a gun.

When officers got on the scene, they were able to locate and arrest the suspects.

As a result, a 36-year-old has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

A 44-year-old has also been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Failure to comply with a probation order.

Both of the accused remain in custody with future court dates.
