Charges laid after 2 people pepper-sprayed on city’s south side

A woman is facing multiple charges following a police response to two people being pepper-sprayed.

Officers were sent to the area of May and Miles Streets around 11 p.m. on Thursday after receiving a report about two assaults.

When officers got on the scene, they found a man and a woman who had been pepper-sprayed.

The victims were able to describe the suspect.

Officers located a group of people nearby, and an investigation led to a female suspect being identified and arrested.

As a result, a 25-year-old is facing the following charges:

  • Assault with a weapon (two counts)
  • Administering a noxious thing (two counts)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Breach of probation

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
