Carbon tax gone, gas prices drop

Canadians are starting to get a break at the pumps.

The carbon tax is officially gone as of today.

After being sworn in as prime minister last month, Mark Carney said the fuel charge would be removed April 1st.

It added 17 cents to a litre of gasoline and 21 cents to a litre of diesel.

On April 1st, regular gas is as low as $1.29 per litre in Thunder Bay.

The last carbon tax rebate will still go out this month.
