Thunder Bay resident charged for sexual assaults between 1978-1988

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a Thunder Bay resident following an investigation into historical sexual assault allegations.

The Thunder Bay Crime Unit began looking into the case, which involves incidents that reportedly took place between 1978 and 1988 in Collins First Nation.

As a result of the investigation, a 61-year-old man from Thunder Bay has been charged with gross indecency, indecent assault on a female, sexual assault, and sexual assault causing bodily harm.

Police are asking anyone with further information or who believes they may have been affected by similar incidents to contact the Thunder Bay OPP detachment. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.

Authorities are also directing victims to support services, including Victim Services of Thunder Bay and Area, which offers resources for those affected by sexual violence.
