Look up: that’s the International Space Station flying over Thunder Bay?

Over 10 years ago, I was told about a website that gives you the exact times the International Space Station performs a flyby over Thunder Bay.

Think about the concept: the Space Station orbits the Earth at an average altitude of 400 km and circles the Earth in about 90 minutes. It competes 15 – 16 orbits everyday. The Space Station is expected to be operational until 2030, and then it will be de-orbited.

NASA has a website called “Spot The Station” – and provides the exact times it will do a ‘flyover’ in certain cities. Thunder Bay is on that list.

Click the link below, and simply follow the instructions. On a clear night, you will see a bright, white light flying over our city. THAT is the International Space Station….an almost 1 million pound object…..travelling at over 27,000 km/h.

SPACE STUFF IS SO COOL!!!
