Assault with weapon leads to charges in Thunder Bay

A man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting someone.

Officers were sent to the city’s south side around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday after receiving reports of an assault.

A witness saw a man using a weapon to assault another man.

Officers located a man matching the suspect description and they were arrested.

The man was found to be in possession of a small baseball bat and brass knuckles.

As a result, a 34-year-old has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
