Taxi driver assaulted before his car was stolen

A taxi driver is seriously injured after he was allegedly assaulted and his vehicle was stolen.

Thunder Bay police responded to a robbery in the area of Leslie Avenue and Black Bay Road around 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say the suspect resisted arrest and fled the scene.

But officers later found the man and arrested him.

He faces multiple charges, including assault, theft, breach of probation, and operating a vehicle while prohibited.

He appeared in court on Wednesday and remains in custody.
