Provincial government supporting 2 local businesses

Two companies in Thunder Bay are getting some funding.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing a total of $664,000 to them.

Superior Resources Inc. is receiving $360,000 of the funding to purchase equipment to increase its harvest capacity.

Precambrian Natural Surface Trails Inc. is receiving $304,000 to purchase and expand a building to accommodate administrative operations and equipment storage.

They are also using the funds to purchase specialized equipment to increase operation capacity and productivity.

“Sustainable forestry, responsible resource management, and outdoor recreation are critical to the economy and well-being of northern communities,” said the MPP for Thunder Bay-Atikokan, Kevin Holland. “By investing in companies that prioritize sustainability and enhance access to natural spaces, we are providing long-term prosperity of both the forestry sector and the communities that depend on it.”

The NOHFC helps support economic growth, job creation, and workforce development throughout northern Ontario.
