McKevitt Trucking has sent out its last shipment.
The Thunder Bay-based company is closing down after over 70 years of operation.
An employee told the 99.9 the Bay newsroom that the final shipment went out on October 31.
Their website declared that McKevitt has been family-owned and operated since 1948 and that it is one of the largest Canada/USA carriers in Northern Ontario.
The website is no longer operating at this time.
The company operated locations in Thunder Bay, Mississauga, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, and Lorette, Manitoba.
The closure will affect roughly 300 people who will be without a job.
Locally businesses like Walmart and Canadian Tire both utilized McKevitt’s services.
