No one injured after home catches fire in Thunder Bay

No one was injured after a fire forced residents to evacuate a building on Hester Street.

A person walking by noticed the building was on fire and called 911 at about 1:30 yesterday afternoon.

Thanks to their quick action, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue says everyone in the home was evacuated safely.

The first crew on the scene prevented the fire from spreading to other areas of the building.

In a news release, the platoon chief says people should make sure any smoking items are extinguished before you throw them away.
