Thunder Bay is offering another curbside collection for leaf and yard waste.
Between October 29, and November 8, yard waste will be accepted on your recycling day.
“The two collections give us an opportunity to increase the amount of leaf and yard waste collected and diverted from the landfill,” said the Manager of Solid Waste & Recycling Services, Jason Sherband. “If we see the tonnage go up, we’ll know that the extra collection is a valuable service for residents. We’re certainly hearing a lot of positive comments.”
Only kraft paper bags will be accepted during collection.
Bags are available at most hardware and grocery stores.
After being filled, bags must weigh less than 18 kg (40 lbs) to be accepted.
Residents may also leave branches and brush at the curb for collection.
Branches must be tied together with string or rope and they must be less than one metre long and 61 cm in diameter.
Grass clippings are not being accepted.
There is no limit on the number of bags for leaf and yard waste collection.
