**NEW FEATURE** “TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD with Danny”!

We launched a new feature here on Mornings In The Bay, and you’ll also hear it throughout the day where I share some ‘good news’ / a positive story. It could be something that happened here, or anywhere in the world? You know those “good feeling” stories? Here’s what I shared today:

Talk about finding a ‘needle in a haystack’ – but it wasn’t a needle – it was a WEDDING RING. Garbage collectors in Greenville, South Carolina helped a lady big time. It was just supposed to be a routine stop at the local recycling centre for a lady named Melanie Harper. She was separating the plastics and paper, and it wasn’t until later, she realized her wedding ring fell into the bins. She emailed the city’s public works department. Guess what the workers did? They took it upon themselves – in their own time – to literally dump 2 containers in the parking lot, and started looking for it. After 6 hours of going through all the recycling – they found it. A white gold ring!

The issue of homelessness is a nation-wide problem, and a Toronto entrepreneur named Ryan Donais is trying to help out. He launched something back in the early Summer called Tiny Tiny Homes. They’re portable homes that can actually be pulled by a bike. Their made out of fiberglass / reinforced plastic, and feature a bed / a desk / a sink and a camping toilet. He spent over 100 hours building the prototype and has now reached out to communities to hopefully get some financial backing to build these. The goal would be to provide these to the homeless. Ryan said he started this – after seeing his brother become homeless over 5 years ago and seeing him struggle with addiction for over 20 years. He sees the huge increase in ‘tent cities’ in just Toronto alone – and hopefully with some support – he can turn this into a solution for so many people who are struggling. If you have a chance – check it out online – TINY TINY HOMES.
