Are you ready for booze in corner stores? The day has arrived!

From this morning’s “TODAY IN THE BAY”:

Today’s the day! Alcohol is officially available in corner stores / convenience stores / gas stations across Ontario. The Doug Ford gov’t originally announced this initiative back in April. The government calls this the ‘largest expansion of consumer choice and convenience since the end of prohibition’.

Corner stores who’ve decided to be part of the program – which total, over 4,000 so far….can now sell beer, cider, wine and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages like vodka sodas, hard iced-teas and hard lemonades.

AND….the hours. Anytime between 7am to 11pm. By the end of October, over 8,000 stores will be able to sell alcohol. How are you feeling about this? Will workers be safe? Think about it though….you’ve been to the States, other provinces – this has been happening for years now. And now – it’s Ontario’s turn.

Be safe. Be responsible. Be smart.
