One of the board members of the Canadian Lakehead Exhibitions is calling it a career.
Marian Benka is retiring after 50 years of volunteer service, at the age of 93.
She is a retired teacher from the community and a past president of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies.
Benka is known for championing Thunder Bay’s Pizza Project at the CLE where students were given opportunities to learn more about where their food comes from.
The announcement comes ahead of the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition Fair kicking off on Wednesday and running through Sunday.
