A blast from the past at Fort William Historical Park

Fort William Historical Park is hosting their annual Great Rendezous.

Hundreds of re-enactors across North America will unite to re-create the summer gathering held at Fort William over 200 years ago. This was when it was the inland headquarters of the North West Company.

Along with historic re-enacting, the event features plenty of activities. There will be artisan demonstrations, such as canoe building and sheep shearing, a speaker series about the fur trade, Métis Jigging with the Métis Nation of Ontario and historic sewing techniques with textile artist Claire Sparling.

On Saturday July 13, visitors will be treated to a Grand Arrival of canoes at the wharf.

The event will take place from July 12-14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and youth.

Further event details can be found here.
