Major donation for Thunder Bay’s waterfront art gallery

The fundraising campaign for the new Thunder Bay art gallery is about to get a boost.

According to a media release, the project has received a significant donation, and we will learn more about it on Tuesday.

The waterfront project originally was estimated to cost about $50 million, but increased construction costs have push the price tag up closer to $60 million.

The gallery is working on various fundraisers to close the gap after receiving $47.5 million in government funds.

The announcement will be held at the art gallery’s current location on Keewatin Street.
