The Thunder Bay Police Service was involved in a standoff at the Lakehead University athletics buildings Friday evening.
Officers were sent to the university campus just after 5 p.m. and there was a significant police presence in the area.
An individual was safely apprehended shortly after 7:30 p.m., but no charges have been announced at this time.
Members of the public were asked to avoid the area while officers were on site, but as of 8:15 p.m. police had cleared the scene.
The athletic facilities were closed early on Friday in response to the police activity but were re-opened for normal business operations on Saturday morning.
City police say a police presence may remain in the area.
