July shooting leads to attempted murder charges

A 22 year old Toronto man has been arrested on attempted murder charges, which stem from an incident last July.

City police were called to the Cumming Street area on July 12th following reports of an injured man and a possible shooting incident.

The victim was taken to hospital and a suspect was identified.

On Saturday members of the Emergency Task Unit, Break and Enter, Armed Robbery Unit and Major Crimes Unit located and arrested the man at a May Street North home.

The accused faces a number of charges including:

• Attempt to Commit Murder with Firearm
• Pointing a Firearm
• Carrying Concealed Weapon
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Restricted
• Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
• Tampering with Serial Number

He appeared in court Sunday and has been remanded into custody with a future court date.
