Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a single motor vehicle collision which occurred in the Kakabeka Falls area late Tuesday evening.
Police and EMS were called to the incident which occurred around 8:30 p.m. near Wiljala Drive, prompting a closure of Highway 11/17 until almost midnight.
One person was taken to hospital where they remain with what are being called serious injuries.
Police remain on scene as of Wednesday afternoon as they conduct the investigation, caution for motorists is being advised as the highway remains open but to alternating traffic.
