Locked Fuel Card Leads To Stolen Vehicle Charges

Nipigon OPP say a Winnipeg man has been charged after officers determined the vehicle he was attempting to refuel was stolen.

Last Thursday police were dispatched to a gas station in the community following the request from the driver of a commercial motor vehicle for assistance with a locked fuel card.

An investigation determined the vehicle, a 2019 Peterbuilt transport, had been reported stolen from Mississauga that same day.

The driver, a 48 year old from Winnipeg, has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Over $5000 (vehicle) and has been released with a future court date to answer to that charge.
