November 5th was the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for 2022 and while all inductees may be created equal…some of them just have ‘it’ and everyone wants a part of it. Dolly Parton was reluctant to receive her inclusion as she felt she hadn’t really done a ‘rock’ record yet. Fans thought differently and she was inducted. Never one to disappoint her fans, Dolly not only graciously accepted her award, she has decided to make a rock record so that her inclusion feels more justified (to her). Apparently, Dolly has even reached out to Jimmy Page and Robert Plant to be on this new record as she would like to include a new cover of Stairway to Heaven (she had originally done a country/gospel version on her album Halos & Horns in 2002). In any case, Dolly’s induction performance ended up being one heck of an all star sing-a-long! Joining Dolly on stage for a rousing version of her hit song Jolene were: Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Brandi Carlile, P!nk, Sheryl Crow, Simon LeBon (Duran Duran), Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Rob Halford (Judas Priest). For you country fans, that’s the Zac Brown Band backing up Parton on stage as well! Check out the video below, and mark you calendars as the edited for television version of the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will air on HBO November 19th!
