Kenora Officer Charged

A member of the OPP in Kenora has been charged following a criminal investigation.

The investigation was initiated after allegations of inappropriate behavior by an off-duty officer in relation to an adult person were made in October last year.

The officer is a 20 year veteran of the OPP and has been assigned to court services-related duties from the Kenora Detachment since 2015.

As a result the 50-year-old officer has been charged with the following:

· Breach of Trust – Section 122

· Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration – Section 286.1 (1)

They have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The officer is currently on leave.
