Stand Off Ends In Cuffs In North Core

A stand off with Thunder Bay Police lasted just over two hours.

On Monday evening police were called to Ambrose Street in connection to an ongoing investigation involving a male suspect.

The suspect was connected to multiple cases that are being investigated by city police and was wanted on numerous charges.

The stand off started around 5:30pm and went until approximately 7:50pm Monday evening.

Police report that the 24 year old Toronto man is connected to a shooting incident on Ambrose St on Aug 21, another attempted shooting incident that happened on May 9 on Pearl St as well as the homicide investigation from May 12 of victim James Chapais that also happened on Pearl St.

The SIU have invoked their mandate and a result the Thunder Bay Police Service cannot provide further details at this time.
