Zellers is back………sort of?

Were you excited about the news that a piece of Canadian nostalgia is set to return in 2023? ZELLERS is back………….sort of.

The Hudson’s Bay Company announced the news last week. The chances are pretty low that we won’t see ZELLERS here in our city.

The plan is….they’ll be opening in The Bay department stores. No word on how many locations, and just how much actual ‘floor space’ it’ll take up. They’ll be launching some of their own products under a house label. Plus, they’ll open up an online shop.

Fun fact: ZELLERS was founded in 1931 in London, Ontario. The Hudson’s Bay Company took it over in ‘78. At its peak in the 90’s…there were over 350 locations!

What do you remember about ZELLERS? For me…it’s actually the restaurant. The fries and gravy! Mmmmmmmmmm.
