COVID-19 Alert App Discontinued

The COVID-19 Alert app is no more.

The Government of Canada says after a thorough review they have decommissioned the app effective today.

Users can now delete it from their devices.

The app was launched in July of 2020 when COVID cases were on the rise.

More than 6.9 million Canadians downloaded the alert app.

Over 57,000 users who tested positive for the virus used the app to notify others.
