From TODAY IN THE BAY: check your Lotto tickets more than once!!! YIKES!

One of the stories from my TODAY IN THE BAY feature this morning:

When you scan your Lotto tickets / scratch tickets and it’s not a winner…….do you immediately throw them away? I don’t. I actually have a drawer in our kitchen (almost like a junk drawer) – where I keep all of my old Lotto tickets. Once I scan them / or have them checked at a store, I always take them with me. It’s just a habit that I refuse to ever change.

Did you hear what happened in B.C?

There was a particular Scratch-And-Win ticket…and over 2,000 tickets were checked across the province. Of those 2,000, over 500 of them accidentally displayed “not a winner” on terminals. WHAT? Turns out those 500 tickets were winners. Hopefully those people didn’t throw them away. This particular scratch-and-win had a top prize of $50,000.

Moral of the story: never throw them away! You just never know. GOOD LUCK.
