Life In Prison For Deadly Van Attack In Toronto

A sentence has been handed down to a man found guilty in a deadly van attack in Toronto, Ontario.

Alek Minassian will spend life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.

He was sentenced in Superior court on Monday for ten counts of first degree murder.

Minassian was also sentenced to 20 years behind bars for 15 counts of attempted murder, which are to be served concurrently.

He was found guilty last year of 10 counts of first-degree murder and 16 counts of attempted murder.

Eight women and two men died in April of 2018 when the 25-year-old intentionally drove a rented van onto a busy sidewalk.
