Vehicle Nabbed On HWY 11-17 Going 147km/h

An 18-year-old from Marathon will be in court on August 15th.

They are facing a Stunt Driving charge after being spotted driving 147 km/h in a 90 km/h zone Saturday afternoon.

Thunder Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped the vehicle just after 12:00 p.m. on Highway 11-17 between Balsam Street and Hodder Avenue.

The vehicle was impounded for 14 days and the driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
